Modern Slavery Statement
Table of Contents
This statement is made under the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) and outlines actions taken by Muval Pty Ltd (“Muval”) to identify and address modern slavery risks within our operations and supply chains.
1. Our Commitment
Muval is committed to conducting business ethically, responsibly, and transparently.
We oppose all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, servitude, human trafficking, and child labour.
We expect the same high standards from our suppliers, partners, and contractors.
We strive to ensure that the goods and services we procure and the operations we manage do not contribute to modern slavery in any form.
2. Our Structure and Operations
Muval Pty Ltd is an Australian technology company headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland.
We operate an online marketplace connecting customers with professional removalists and relocation service providers nationwide and offer related software (including MovePro) and concierge services.
Our operations are primarily Australia-based, supported by offshore customer service partners.
Senior leadership conducts regular visits to maintain strong relationships and ensure ethical working conditions.
3. Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include:
- Australian removalist and logistics providers
- Technology and software vendors
- Office, marketing, and IT equipment suppliers
- Offshore partners, including Outposter Pty Ltd in the Philippines
While most suppliers operate in low-risk jurisdictions, offshore services and logistics may present higher risk due to labour and subcontracting practices.
4. Assessing and Managing Risk
Muval regularly reviews operations and suppliers to assess and mitigate risk.
Key focus areas include offshore support, logistics subcontractors, and technology hardware. We address these risks by:
- Partnering only with reputable and compliant suppliers
- Requiring compliance with labour laws and ethical standards
- Periodically reviewing suppliers for ongoing adherence
5. Policies and Governance
Muval upholds ethical conduct through:
- A Supplier Code of Conduct covering fair wages, safe work, and compliance
- A Whistleblower Policy enabling confidential reporting of concerns
- An Employee Conduct and Ethics Policy embedding respect and integrity
Policies are reviewed regularly and form part of onboarding and staff training.
6. Due Diligence and Supplier Engagement
Before onboarding new suppliers, Muval performs due diligence, reviewing business practices, labour standards, and compliance with modern slavery expectations. Suppliers must also ensure their subcontractors meet similar standards.
7. Training and Awareness
Staff involved in procurement, supplier management, and people operations receive training to identify and report potential modern slavery risks.
We also share awareness materials across our teams and suppliers.
8. Measuring Effectiveness
Muval tracks effectiveness through:
- Supplier screening and periodic review
- Incident reporting mechanisms
- Annual compliance and audit checks with key partners
No incidents of modern slavery have been identified within our operations or supply chains.
9. Continuous Improvement
Muval will:
- Introduce formal supplier questionnaires on ethical practices
- Strengthen contractual modern slavery clauses
- Extend training to offshore leaders and suppliers
- Run randomised spot checks and audits on suppliers’ supply chains
