Luckily, we're here to help at every step of your interstate relocation.

Working with a fleet of vetted professional removalists, Muval utilises backloading where possible to reduce the costs of interstate relocation. Backloading is where you can book either spare space on existing moving truck routes or empty trucks on their return journey. Backloading can be much cheaper than hiring a truck and removalist team yourself. With backloading you are only paying for the space that your belongings take up on the truck. This avoids having to pay for the truck rental itself. Muval works with multiple removalist companies to ensure that you will get the best rate, whatever the route you take.

Muval ensures expert move managers are available to help from beginning to end with all aspects of interstate furniture removals. We also help to choose insurance options and professional packing and transport. Muval can help change interstate moving from daunting to effortless.

Muval offers many routes between Australian capital and larger cities, allowing you to compare interstate moving company prices and save money wherever you are moving within Australia.

Backloading is when you book the available truck space on an interstate removalist truck that’s already booked with a primary load. It often means you may have to be slightly flexible on your pickup and delivery dates & times, but in turn it usually means big cost savings! Another benefit of backloading is that moving trucks are always available. Moving this way can allow you to take advantage of interstate removals truck space if you need to move on short notice. It is by far the most cost-effecitve way to book an interstate removals service if you have to move interstate.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. This varies depends on which company you are using. Usually, the minimum charge is based on the cost of transporting 5 cubic metres.

If you cancel within 48 hours of your booking (if your move is more than 5 days away) or give three weeks’ notice before your pick up date, you will get a full refund of your deposit.

The cost for your local move will depend on how long your move takes. Some dishonest moving companies quote very cheap hourly or half-hourly rates to get your job, and then work slowly on the day or surprise you with additional charges in order to make more money.

Unless they are running a limited special offer, most honest removal companies need to charge at least $45 per half hour or more in order to pay their staff (two people usually come to load and unload the truck for you), pay their insurances, and make sure their trucks are serviced regularly.

The best way to ensure a successful move day is to be prepared. One way to do this is to notify your removalist about any very heavy or awkward-to-move items before move day. It can never hurt to double-check with them that they understand that you have these items, even if you have also submitted an inventory list. These sorts of items include:

  • Grand / Baby grand piano
  • Pizza oven
  • Concrete furniture
  • Pool / snooker tables (particularly slate)
  • Many pot plants / large pot plants

It is preferred if you or your representative to be present at the pickup and drop off.

Dismantling and assembling the furniture are not included in our standard pricing but can easily be added to your moving service, just ask.

We only work with experienced and reputable moving companies and its in their best interests to pack accurately in the trucks for two main reasons:

  1. It maximizes the space available.
  2. A tight well-loaded vehicle ensures less movement and motion on the road/rail.
