2-hour deposit is the typical up-front cost to secure a crew, based on the median half-hour rate (four 30-minute units). Muval collects the first two hours as a deposit when you book.

Book ahead is the median number of days between confirming a removalist and moving day.

Typical saving is calculated from completed bookings where the customer received two or more competing quotes and booked below their average quote. We calculate the percentage difference for each eligible booking, remove extreme outliers, then average the result. Muval is a booking platform. We find reliable moving companies at a competitive rate. We help companies fill their space with customers that are happy to fit in with the truck schedule. It is called a shared load option.

Packing and unpacking boxes for your house is not usually included by default when you book a removalist. This is a service that needs to be booked separately (you can do this through Muval) or done yourself, and is best arranged for a day or two before your removalist is scheduled to do your uplift.

In our experience, people always dramatically under estimate the time it takes to pack their house, and it's usually one of the most burdensome tasks of moving! If you're packing yourself, make sure you start early and do a couple of boxes a day. Otherwise, save yourself the hassle and book packing services through Muval. Your future self will thank you.

When looking at your kitchen, the industry standard is one book carton to each cupboard door.

It depends on your volume and which carrier we are using for your move. Some companies can delay the delivery by a day for an extra fee, but others may not be able to if the truck is only passing by your address and must continue driving.

The earlier you book your move the more confident you can be that the date you wish to move will be available. However, the time in advance that you should book is heavily dependent on the time of year. Between October and March we recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance of when you want to move. From March - September you can leave it a little later, booking 2-3 weeks out.

The final payment must be paid five days before the nominated pickup date.
