Time-on-the-job figures come from actual completed moves, recorded by the crew after the job is finished. Lowest rate is the cheapest rate per 30 minutes paid on a completed local move booked through Muval in the past 6 months. The cheapest crews book out first, especially for weekend and end-of-month dates.

Typical total is the median actual cost of completed moves — the crew's full billed time at their half-hour rate, not just the two-hour deposit.

Typical size is the average cubic-metre volume recorded for moves on this page.

2-hour deposit is the typical up-front cost to secure a crew, based on the median half-hour rate (four 30-minute units). Muval collects the first two hours as a deposit when you book.

Book ahead is the median number of days between confirming a removalist and moving day.

Busiest day is the day of the week most local moves in this area are booked for.

Typical saving is calculated from completed bookings where the customer received two or more competing quotes and booked below their average quote. We calculate the percentage difference for each eligible booking, remove extreme outliers, then average the result. Some companies will have storage at the destination and some at the pickup. Some even include complimentary storage!

Yes, all of our prices are GST inclusive.

Dismantling and assembling the furniture are not included in our standard pricing but can easily be added to your moving service, just ask.

If your booking is a premium service, the company will be able to provide exact timing. If your booking is a shared option, then your schedule will be a window between two to seven hours on the move day.

The packing service is not included in our standard pricing. Please check with our support team to get a quotation.

When quoting on your job, we provide the name and reviews of the company that matches your inquiry. Although we vet every company on our system, we encourage you to do your own due dilligence on the company you choose.

It depends on your volume and which carrier we are using for your move. Some companies can delay the delivery by a day for an extra fee, but others may not be able to if the truck is only passing by your address and must continue driving.
